During the 2010 China Olympics there were some serious action packed plays in all sports however the tennis is one which many people take notice of because it is a very universal sport around the world. Svetlana Kuznetsova was challenged by many players in the Grand Slam event which took her up against the worlds very best which just goes to say that she is one of this group competing against. Potentially playing against the likes of champion Maria Sharapova and Australian player Samantha Stosur, Svetlana had a lot of tough competition.
Unfortunately she did not get to be the champion of this particular event when she was defeated by Roberta Vinci. A controversial act of walking off the court was played up by the newspapers and other media however there where some tough referee calls which did upset Svetlana Kuznetsova. This match itself would have been the media focus however they chose to write their stories on the way that Svetlana left which looked as if she was being a bad sport.
In 2004 Svetlana Kuznetsova won a Grand Slam single title in the women’s tour which helped to prove the dominance of the sport by Russian players. Unfortunately Svetlana has had a few injuries which has kept her from playing in a few of the more important matches of her career though her come back into the sport of tennis was one which proved that strong players can move through the pain and get back into the swing of things with the right attitude.
